We ventured to a little restaurant called “Decour de
France,” mainly because we were dying to try macaroons and partly because we
needed to try something besides Panera every week (not that we are tired of
Panera, because I definitely am not.)
I had the French version of a chicken pot pie with mushroom
sauce. Ivey had some sort of breakfast quiche that had eggs and ham in it and a
salad on the side. Both were very delicious, but rather rich.
We decided to split a small box of macaroons that contained
a sample of each flavor (i.e. caramel, mango, lemon, chocolate, blueberry,
strawberry, vanilla, and pistachio).
To be honest, both Ivey and I thought the fruit flavors
tasted very odd and definitely did not meet our expectations. The vanilla was
extremely sweet, but we did thoroughly enjoy the caramel and chocolate flavors.
It was definitely an experience if not to say the least.
